Our Story

RakiYa Travel was born from a deep love for Albania and the wider Balkans. Founded in Tirana by locals, RakiYa began with a desire to share the region we know best, a place shaped by powerful landscapes, layered history, and a way of life that values connection above all else.

Growing up here meant being surrounded by mountains and coastlines, old towns and living traditions, and a hospitality that treats strangers like long-lost friends. That background inspired us to create travel experiences that go beyond the surface. Not just visiting places, but understanding them. Not just seeing the Balkans, but feeling its rhythm.

What started as a personal passion has grown into a destination management company trusted by travelers who want something more meaningful. From Albania to neighboring Balkan countries, we design journeys that reveal the region’s true character through its people, stories, and everyday moments.

The name RakiYa is inspired by raki, a traditional drink deeply rooted in Albanian and Balkan culture. More than a drink, raki represents warmth, community, and the joy of shared moments. RakiYa carries that spirit into travel, bringing people together to explore, experience, and connect with local culture in an authentic way.

Each itinerary we design is carefully crafted to bring you closer to local culture, whether that means sharing homemade raki in a village home, walking through historic towns shaped by centuries of change, or hiking through wild, untouched landscapes. These experiences invite you to slow down, listen, and engage deeply with the places you visit.

We also take seriously our role as caretakers of this region. Sustainability, respect for local communities, and ethical partnerships are at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that travel leaves a positive impact long after the journey ends.

Our story continues to grow alongside Albania and the Balkans.
And we are proud to invite you to experience it with us.
